SWEET SUZI CHILLY SALSA
RECIPES AND USES
EXCITING MEATLOAF
- 3 lbs. of whatever meat you would normally use in your meatloaf (all beef, equal parts of veal, poultry and pork, etc.)
Hand mix in the following:
- 1 cup of breadcrumbs (plain or Italian flavored)
- 1 egg (optional)
- 1 1/2 cups of Sweet Suzi's Chilly Salsa (be sure to include juice from the jar to make up that measurement)
Cover meatloaf with foil and bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. (Adjust timing depending on what size pan you use.) For the last 10 –15 minutes of baking, uncover your meatloaf to allow some of the juices to evaporate, but not all.
VENISON TO CUT WITH A FORK
- 3 - 4 lbs. venison chops or steaks or (beef)- 1 can of beef or onion broth
- 1 can diced or stewed tomatoes
- 3/4 cup of Sweet Suzi
- 8oz. package of mushrooms cut up or left whole
- 1 small onion sliced or diced
- 1 green pepper sliced or diced
Add all of the above to a crockpot and cook on low for 6-8 hours. Meat will be tender and flavorful. Check for flavor after 6 hours and then adjust according to your taste.
Additional suggestions:
· Add 1/4 cup of your favorite red wine.
· Add 1/2 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper for a little warmth.
· Add a bag of frozen vegetables.
· Add an 8 oz. can of plain tomato sauce
If you have enough juice, thicken it up with some cornstarch for more of a gravy texture.
GROUND TURKEY CHILI YOU CAN'T STOP EATING
- 1 lb. of ground turkey (all white meat is best)
- 1 can of kidney beans
- 6 oz. tomato sauce
- 1 1/2 cups of Sweet Suzi's Chilly Salsa
- 3 teaspoons chili powder
Brown your meat and drain the fat. Add the beans and Chilly Salsa and allow to cook for 10 minutes stirring often. Add the chili powder for a little warmth. Start with a teaspoon and then add to taste.
SWEET SUZI'S CELERY STICKS
Mix 1 - 8 oz. tub of cream cheese (regular, lite, or fat free - whipped works best) with 3/4 cup of Sweet Suzi and use just the pulp part. Too much juice will make the cream cheese too runny.
Fill your celery sticks with the mixture and refrigerate for 1/2 hour or so. Serve as a snack.
Can add 1/2 cup of mayo with a little more Sweet Suzi. Be sure to drain the Sweet Suzi but save the juice for your meatloaf.
The fat free cream cheese tends to be runny. Avoid it if you can.
CUBE STEAKS A LA SWEET SUZI
Egg and flour your cube steaks. Brown cube steaks in a slight bit of olive oil (enough to barely cover the bottom of the skillet). Once browned on both sides, poor Sweet Suzi's Chilly Salsa over the meat until not quite covered and sizzle for a minute, then simmer for approximately 8 minutes depending on the thickness and number of cube steaks in the pan.
OTHER SERVING SUGGESTIONS
Sweet Suzi is delicious used as a topping for baked potatoes. And, it's fat free! Add a tablespoon or two to an 8 oz. tub of French Onion dip for an amazing taste sensation. Sweet Suzi is also great on hamburgers and hot dogs, or just with your favorite chips. Sweet Suzi's Nachos are a real delight. Either mix together Sweet Suzi with spicy nacho cheese and serve with nachos or keep the cheese and Sweet Suzi separate. Place a few sliced jalapenos and you have a real taste treat.
Experiment with your own favorite quesadillas.
